Keli Jacobi

Consultant for Small Businesses

Keli Jacobi is an award-winning professional with experience leading higher education marketing and communications teams, managing projects and content across platforms, as well as making data-informed decisions.

During her time at Lyon College in Arkansas—the state’s second oldest institution of higher education—she restructured her department’s strategies and tactics to achieve measurable improvements. She developed the college’s first ever monthly marketing metrics dashboard using the POEM model (paid, owned, earned media) to establish baseline metrics and make strategic improvements in team’s marketing and communications output; oversaw a new media relations effort leading to the college’s placement in national, regional, and statewide media outlets; and provided guidance and budgeting to facilitate the first ever Lyon College Social Media Influencer Class. She also led a marketing campaign to increase campus visits by 110% and improve application rates for the college.

As associate director at UA Little Rock, she conceptualized content strategy for university projects and ensured consistent messaging across multiple marketing disciplines while closely monitoring brand reputation. Jacobi also managed, monitored, and administered overall print and outdoor billboard ad budget, including executing creative and placement of ads. At the University of Louisiana at Monroe, she served as senior public information officer and was responsible for writing, editing, and distributing news releases, ad copy, and web content, as well as making media pitching for editorial coverage.

Jacobi’s evolution as a data marketing communications professional began years ago as a traditional news reporter covering a range of issues and earning numerous writing awards that are a testament to her skill as a storyteller. Jacobi earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2014 and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She has a certificate in Crisis Communication from PRSA and a graduate certificate in business analytics from UA Little Rock. A passionate advocate for higher education and a lifelong learner, Jacobi earned her MA in History from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she wrote her thesis on the first female elected to the U.S. Senate.

An avid enthusiast of the National Park System, Jacobi and her husband enjoy striking out on their latest adventure wherever possible, with their tiny camper and two dogs in tow.

Professor Jacobi helped us understand how to succeed in a Master's program. She was encouraging and willing to help. It had been many, many years since I've been in college, plus working full-time with a family, so the transition into academia was a challenge. Her class was well organized, thorough, and she was very active in the discussions which only encouraged us further. She was available to talk to when it was necessary. She was always friendly and willing to help.

Professor Jacobi was very hands on and really demonstrated that the success of the grad student was her objective. She was very responsive when it came to responding to emails, as it related to having additional questions about assignments or if any clarity was needed. She took the whole class into account by putting together a zoom call where she walked through some key points that would improve the quality of our submitted assignments. Needless to say, she really showed that she was available for us and it was very much appreciated.
