Mark Tietbohl
In addition to serving as an adjunct instructor for Web Analytics/SEO and Mobile Marketing in the IMC program, Mark Tietbohl is currently engaged in providing marketing and business development strategy support to technology industry clients.
Previously, he was active in new business development for Lowe’s Home Improvement, with a focus on developing and testing new service programs and selling/marketing approaches. Tietbohl’s considerable background in direct response, web marketing and enterprise selling systems was helpful in this effort. One of the project teams he was involved with designed, launched and executed the in-home selling platform for Lowe’s. This program went from start up to $500 million in annual revenue in 5 years, and currently continues to experience growth in double digits after being turned over to Store Operations. His last project involved acting as a business lead for the Services Group on the Lowe’s Omni Channel Technology project. This initiative combined several large technology platforms (CRM, CX, SVoC, POS) and data bases to support Lowe’s Omni Channel selling efforts across stores, in-home sales, dot.com, call centers, delivery systems and third-party vendors.
Tietbohl spent over 12 years building a full service direct mail company specializing in the design and execution of test campaigns for clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical, automotive, information technology and CPM industries. During this time, he and his team helped develop initial offers and testing paradigms (A/B, multivariate) used in pilot programs for clients that included American Express, GEICO, McNeil, Just Born Candies and The Franklin Mint.
He was an early participant in web development and e-Commerce, assisting both B2C and B2B companies develop an online web and selling presence while acting in a marketing consultant/project manager and later as Marketing VP for a niche consumer marketer. In this last position, he led a team that build an online presence that developed into a strong e-commerce force that supported their retail and mail order efforts.
Tietbohl has also taught graphic arts, campaign marketing and global marketing coursework at the university level on an adjunct basis, most recently at UNC – Charlotte and Lynn University.
He holds BS from Illinois Institute of Technology, MBA from Seton Hall University and a graduate certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University. Given that his family is scattered across the continental US, his interests include travel, and when time permits, golf. Originally from Pennsylvania, Tietbohl has lived in several locations in the US throughout his career, and currently resides with his wife Debora in Boynton Beach, FL.
