IMC, Data and Digital Online Program Scholarships

The West Virginia University Reed School of Media and Communications offers a highly competitive scholarship for students enrolled in the College’s Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC), Data Marketing Communications or Digital Marketing Communications graduate programs. Newly admitted and current students can apply in the Fall and scholarships are awarded the following Spring. This is currently the only scholarship dedicated specifically to online graduate students in the WVU Reed School of Media and Communications.

Current IMC, Data Marketing Communications and Digital Marketing Communications and newly admitted students for Spring 2025 are encouraged to apply for a supplemental scholarship from the program's IMC & DMC Scholarship Fund for the 2024/25 academic year.

Applications must be received by Noon ET on Friday, December 20, 2024. No applications will be accepted or considered after this deadline.

Applications are currently closed. Check back later for more details about future scholarship application dates.

Apply Online

To be considered, applicants must:

  1. Be admitted to the Integrated Marketing Communications, Data Marketing Communications or Digital Marketing Communications master's degree program.
  2. Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (either at point of admission to the program or in their graduate-level coursework at WVU).
  3. Be registered for at least one course in Spring 2025 by the application deadline (December 20).
  4. Submit a complete application, which includes uploading both a professional head shot with photo release and their current resume (PDF preferred).

Please note, this scholarship has been highly competitive in the past. Here’s a few tips for your application:

  • Brag a little. We want to know you and your future goals (and how we can help! ).
  • Put some thought into it. In the past when this scholarship was offered, we received 88 applications and we were able to award three (that’s a 3.4% award chance). Take it seriously and spend some time on your answers.
  • Don’t procrastinate! Just because you have a time doesn’t mean you should wait to the last minute. We extended the deadline this year until after the conclusion of the Late Fall term to give you more time to focus on submitting a quality application.
  • Spell check and review your answers before submitting (asking a family member or friend to read it also helps!).

While we hope that at least one student from each program is selected, applications will be reviewed and ranked based on the content of their submission, regardless of which program(s) are represented. As in previous years, there is a strong possibility of awarding multiple scholarships.

Recipient(s) will be notified and announced in January 2025.
