Karen Naumann, APR, PMP is a senior Instructor at the U.S. Department of Defense Information School, where she trains public affairs officers for the United States' fleet and field.

She is a multifaceted, seasoned practitioner with more than 25 years of communication experience. Naumann is a communications executive, author and educator.   

A notable time during her career is when she worked in communication and digital diplomacy for the Government of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest United States. On behalf of the Government of Israel, Naumann led strategic communication efforts in a six-state region.

Naumann is an award-winning communicator and is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) and certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP). Additionally, she graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Later, she received a Master of Arts in Communication at the University of Houston (UH).

She is active in the Public Relations Society of America, the National Press Club, and the LSU Alumni-DC Chapter. Additionally, Naumann is also a member of the Louisiana State Society, John S. Carroll Society, Washington Networking Group, National Communication Association, and Washington Women in Public Relations.
