Behind the Campaign: The Museum of Modern Ads with Fiona Green

Fiona Green, M.S. IMC, is the Head of Thought Leadership & Editorial for Amazon Ads where she oversees the digital content strategy for Amazon’s advertising division, helping to build global brand awareness and consideration within the industry.

In 2022, her team was awarded the ShortHand award for “Best Business Story” for ‘A Marketer’s Guide to Twitch’ with Adweek and delivered a first-of-its-kind immersive augmented reality experience with Vox Media—The Museum of Modern Ads. Amazon Ads presents The Museum of Modern Ads

This innovative campaign, developed in partnership with VOX Media, brings an augmented reality experience that allows users to explore the past, present and future of advertising in an interactive, museum-like setting. This digital experience showcased the evolution of advertising.

Green’s team created this campaign as what Amazon calls a one-way door decision. They did their due diligence and set the vision for this campaign to get leadership and stakeholder buy-in.

To enhance the reach of The Museum of Modern Ads, they invested in video campaigns, podcast ads and infographics. One thing Green noted she would do differently next time is to involve the events team at the beginning to bring the digital experience to an experiential opportunity at an Amazon event.

Green used the knowledge she gained in the M.S. Integrated Marketing Communications program.

Marketing Manager

Stefanie is a marketing manager in the Marketing Communications Online Programs through the College of Creative Arts and Media at West Virginia University. She is an alumna of WVU's M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) and has been working in marketing for over 6 years after beginning her career in the newspaper business. She's a marathon runner and she recently ran a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon.
