Meet Courtney Jensen, the Director of Grants & Development at the Allegany College of Maryland and incoming M.S. Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) student who is part of the Executive Cohort. She is passionate about community involvement, arts and cultural preservation.
Jensen was drawn to the WVU’s Integrated Marketing Communications online master’s degree program for its quality and innovation, as well as for being the nation’s first online IMC master’s program. Additionally, the flexibility of online learning will allow her to pursue this degree while balancing her professional responsibilities and personal commitments.
"The unique combination of theoretical and practical learning in WVU's IMC program aligns perfectly with my career goals," Jensen explains. "The Executive Cohort will refine my leadership abilities and prepare me for higher-level roles within my organization."
She’s looking forward to gaining a comprehensive understanding of Integrated Marketing Communications and the opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals and fellow students. "I am eager to exchange ideas and perspectives with my peers and industry experts," she shares. "This collaboration will enhance my intellectual growth and professional development."
Through her studies, she envisions leveraging her newfound expertise to drive strategic initiatives, enhance donor engagement and further elevate Allegany College of Maryland’s profile within the community.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Jensen is committed to giving back to her community. She serves as the President of the C. William Gilchrist Museum of Arts and History, as well as a contributor to various boards including the Western MD Junior Chamber of Commerce. "Volunteering is not just a hobby; it's a significant aspect of my life," says Jensen. "I find fulfillment in giving back to the community." She has also received awards such as the Outstanding ParaProfessional Award and was recognized as one of the Maryland Daily Record’s Leading Women Under 40.
I firmly believe that through continuous learning, service to others, and a commitment to excellence, we can create meaningful change and contribute to a brighter future for all. Courtney Jensen
Additionally, she balances her life with yoga and swimming, helping her maintain physical health while fostering mental well-being.
Jensen is grateful for the opportunity to pursue the Integrated Marketing Communications Executive Cohort at WVU. She’s excited to embark on this journey of growth and development. “I am confident that it will empower me to make an even greater impact in my role at Allegany College of Maryland and beyond,” Jensen adds.
