Camaraderie and Success: Harry Lundy's WVU Journey

|

Harry Lundy

As Harry Lundy reflects on his time at WVU, he highlights the importance of strong relationships and the value of taking advantage of the resources available to students.

Lundy’s favorite memory from his time at WVU is the camaraderie he shared with his classmates. “Seeing them throughout the program allowed us to develop relationships not only for the program but also outside of class,” he says.

A colleague had mentioned going through the program, so I checked it out and liked what I saw. I had also moved to a marketing position, so the timing was great. It has been nice to apply what I have learned at work. Harry Lundy

Wendy Ridenour, the academic advisor for WVU Marketing Communications Online Programs, has had a significant impact on Lundy’s college experience. “She was a constant throughout my tenure. She is friendly and always had quick, helpful responses to my questions,” Lundy explains. “Wendy made sure that I was always on top of registration deadlines, and, most importantly, graduation. I am going to miss her.”

Lundy’s favorite course was Emerging Media and the Market. “It didn’t start out that way because I was a little resistant,” he admits. “But I quickly began to appreciate all of the creativity we could exercise with new technologies. Although it was a lot of work, it was a lot of fun.”

As Lundy prepares to graduate, he offers some advice to incoming students: “Take advantage of the help that professors offer. They want you to understand the material and to succeed. They are also very quick to respond. When it comes to discussions, they may ask thought-provoking questions based on their experience. Searching out those answers provides greater insight. Finally, their notes are very helpful in improving your assignments.”

Lundy, a graduate of the Integrated Marketing Communications master’s degree as part of the DINFOS cohort, is a digital marketing specialist in Colorado Springs, CO.
