Harry Kibbe loved all of his moments with WVU, from his acceptance through completing the program. His capstone final grade and feedback were his absolute best moments. “My professors at WVU have done an excellent job of finding the balance of critique and encouragement, which helped drive me through the coursework,” Kibbe noted.
He enjoyed the passion and experiences his professors brought to the classroom, noting three who made the most impact, Kristin Meeks, Kristi Hansen-Onkka and Bonnie Harris. He added that Bob Sukys was an incredible resource, willing to share stories from his marketing career. Those are his four favorite faculty members.
A team member of Kibbe’s on the National Marketing Team of the Headquarters Air Force Recruiting Service recently got a marketing degree and encouraged him to do the same. When researching, WVU’s program stood out because of its innovative approach to marketing and its support of Active Duty and Veterans. Upon completing undergrad, he applied to the program.
Emerging Media and the Market stood out to him as being one of the most fun courses in the program. Another favorite was the Capstone as it brought all of the lessons together to build a complete plan.
WVU has been very welcoming and accommodating to its military cohort members,” Kibby adds. “I have never felt so encouraged by faculty and staff. Their partnership with the Defense Information School has shown their commitment to service members and veterans.”

He advises prospective and incoming students to fit their passion into the coursework. Some of the courses allow you to select your company or topic. He found he did his best work when he chose a company, brand or topic he was passionate about.
WVU has filled me with pride and appreciation as I wrap up my education journey. I am proud of my service and grateful to be a Mountaineer! Let's Go! Harry Kibbe
